This is the third book in the series. I love a good second chance romance and this book was an excellent one! Man does Tripp just make me swoon. My heart goes out to Skye. Her backstory and the hard marriage she left behind has left a lasting impact on her. The way she has not crumbled, but rose from the ashes is unbelievably inspiring. Running into Tripp once again when she about to make a dream of hers come true is fate. Tripp kicks himself for letting her go years ago.

Tripp and Skye’s second chance romance was a lighthearted and lovely read. While there was some intrigue and drama, overall the story revolved around Skye learning to trust Tripp and open her heart to him following a previous break up and subsequent abusive marriage to another man. I found the story a little drawn out, however both main characters were likeable and engaging, and there were plenty of sweet and steamy scenes to keep me turning the pages. Overall an enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed Skye and Tripp’s story. Second chance romances can be a hit or miss for me. This one was a hit even if the premise was a little too out there for me. But, Ms Phillips makes it work. Even though Skye went through a horrible divorce from a man who was emotionally and mentally controlling, she was slowly getting her old self back. Tripp realized that he made a mistake when he walked away from her. What will bring them back together?

Carly Phillips, whose real name is Karen Drogin, was born on July 7, 1965 in New York. She received an undergraduate degree from Brandeis University. She eventually became a lawyer, but never really enjoyed practicing law. After having her first child, she decided she wanted to write a romance novel. Seven years later, she sold her first book, Brazen, to Harlequin Temptation. She is now the best-selling author of numerous romances including Simply Sinful, The Playboy, Summer Lovin', Hot Property, Cross My Heart, and Lucky Break. She also writes the New York Times bestselling Dare to Love series.
